Founded by Professors Shafi Goldwasser, Silvio Micali, and Ronald Rivest in the Fall of 1995. Led by Professors Yael Kalai and Vinod Vaikuntanathan.

Mission

Advancing the theory and practice of cryptography.

We seek to develop techniques for securing tomorrow's global information infrastracture by exploring theoretical foundations, near-term practical applications, and long-range speculative research. We are also interested in the relationship of our field to others, such as complexity theory, algorithms, game theory, quantum computing, machine learning, and cryptographic policy debates.
